She can still pack an MFO box effortlessly if required and I am also in excellent health. My civilian career has gone well. Formerly Procurement Manager for a major logistics company, now into property development living in North Lincolnshire. Other than the odd gossip with John (chicken legs) Thursby I have not found the time to look up anyone else. Perhaps I had better pull my finger out! Wishing you all well. |

Joined the juniors in Sept 71 got
separated from my mates at that time and was posted to 2nd Bn No 1
Coy. Left half way through our tour in Londonderry and joined the
Manchester Police where I remain until my retirement in April this year
at the ripe old age of 50, married 2 dogs no kids. Have only just found
this web site and recognise a few names. Its good to know we all still
feel part of it. Would like to hear from anyone who remembers me or
names and faces from that era. |

I am 24262854 John Stenton. Was in 1Coy 1CG 1971-1975, transferring to 1
Coy 2CG for their 18 month NI tour. Got out as a LSgt in 1978 and joined
South Yorkshire Police. Took early retirement Nov '04 and duly embarked
on Op Telic 5 with RMP(v). Four Telics later, still in Iraq this time on the private circuit whose contract is up in June this year, then it's job hunting again. Also did Bosnia 95/96 where I bumped into a Peter Williams a former Pl Comd, then a Brigadier. Attended the Donny do last year and met some old comrades, and hope to do the same this again this year. |

Stephen Ogle, better known as Oggie served 1980 to 93 first three

for 2 years and served with the London district security dog section
at Pirbright.
Took redundancy, bad move but all worked out in the end still living
in Caterham bumping into some of the old and bold from time to time,
working hard for a living now, drop a line any time, who ever
remembers me....all the best lads.......Oggie

Joined the 1st Bn at Caterham in 1983, turned up with Steve Yellowley
and Steve Deats. I was sent to 7 platoon 2 company with people like Sid
Sidaway, Taff Evans, Rog, Cookie, Joe Lee, Smiffy, tuffsy, Paul Godfrey,
Gig, Steve Lindsey and so on. Platoon Sgt was Sid Kay and my section commanders were Fingers Myers and the beloved George Cutter (who I still
have nightmares about up until this day). Done Canada ,Cyprus,Falklands, Hong Kong
N.I. and Kenya. Moved over to the medical centre after coming to my senses. Now living in Slough and working for an international freight forwarder as the UK Transport Manager. Based at Heathrow Airport but often travelling around the country to our other depots. Would be very interested in contacting some of the old 7 platoon guys. |

Posted to No 1 Coy 2nd Bn at Wellington Bks, then on to Regimental Police as L/Cpl. Posted to Guards Depot in 64 as Squad/Weapons Instructor, 3 years there (I think) Back to 3 Coy 2CG Plt Sgt and then to 2Support Coy when it was reformed as Recce Plt Sgt. Eddie Jackson was CSM, Ken Hall CQMS, Les Peake A/Tks, Dave Garret Mortar Pl, Ray Leckonby Ass Pioneers and me as Recce Plt Sgt. With Bn to Munster then posted to Signals wing, Warminster for 3 yrs (C/Sgt - ASMI). Finally back to 2nd Bn Signal Platoon to the end of my service in 74. Married to Sue since 1965, 3 Kids, 5 G/Kids. Living in Poole, Dorset Since leaving the Regt worked in Training Consultancy, and past 6 yrs as Clinical Psychotherapist with the NHS.
